Guy Laroche began his career in millinery and, from 1949, Laroche worked for Jean Desses and eventually became his assistant, his big break came in 1955, when he visited the U.S. to investigate new ready-to-wear manufacturing methods and returned to found a high-fashion atelier at 37 avenue Franklin Roosevelt, Paris. His first collection was favorably received, reintroducing vibrant colours such as pink, orange, coral, topaz and turquoise, plunging neck and back lines and simple practical clothing for women.
This need to create practical, sensual enhancements for women and men trascended into his fragrance creations, with a range that adornes and drapes the skin with a warm intensity. | |
